Agreement Berlusconi- Ondimba. Cestari, "Inaugurated a new phase in relations between Italy and Africa."
In mid-June economic mission of 30 Italian companies in Gabon

ROME, MAY 18, 2011
- "President Berlusconi was impressed by the  geopolitical vision of President Ondimba, despite the large African issues and relations with Europe; President Ondimba is focusing on strengthening relations between Gabon and Italy and told  him this without frills.

I believe that, after the deepened meeting  of yesterday (it lasted an hour and a half), it is about to inaugurate a season of new relations with Africa: in this process, the Government of Gabon will certainly be a firm partner of the Italian " said  the Eng. Alfredo Cestari, president of the Chamber of Commerce- ItalAfrica Centrale-Unioncamere referring to both the closed meeting held Tuesday in Palazzo Chigi (at the table of President Silvio Berlusconi  there were the President of the Republic of Gabon Ali Bongo Ondimba, the Hon. Paolo Bonaiuti , Hon. Valentino Valentini and the President of ItalAfrica  Centrale,Alfredo Cestari) and to that reserved today at the Hotel Parco dei Principi in Rome between President Ondimba, representatives of SACE and Simest and the President Cestari.

Since the  beginning  of armed intervention in Libya it was the first time that  President Berlusconi received a head of state in Africa.

"Both in Africa and Europe - continues Cestari - there is great desire to overcome the coldness of the relationships caused by the choice  of interventionism in Libya: the Government of Gabon could play the role of mediator in respect of the African Union ( of which it is a member ) because, Europe and Africa together, will overcome the current impasse and reopen the season  of profitable relationships for both institutions and companies. Africa needs Western companies, our companies need not be denied the opportunity to explore these new and emerging markets. President  Berlusconi has assured full support of the Italian public and private economic sector to Gabon in this delicate phase of structural development. "

Referring in particular to the appointment  of today, Cestari says: "The official visit of President Ondimba ,arrived in Italy with a good follow-up of ministers and the warm welcome guaranteed by the public and private institutions have strengthened bilateral relations between the two countries and laid the foundation for a business and industrial  Italian evolution in Gabon Italian very well structured.

President Ondimba has specifically asked the Chamber of Commerce ItalAfrica Centrale to encourage Italian businessmen to invest in Libreville. I replied that, during the economic mission scheduled for mid-June, about thirty companies  were selected from among those interested in internationalizing their activities in Gabon. "

For this aim on Thursday, at the Hotel Parco dei Principi, the President Ondimba will inaugurate the Italian-Gabonese entrepreneurial forum.
