The representative of the DRC Ministry of Health Dr. Bolamba visits the Hospital of Salerno.

The meeting of the Director of the Congolese Ministry of Health Dr. Christian Bolamba for the first time in Italy, with the doctors involved in the next shipment in DRC has been full of emotions and commitments. From the first day of his stay, the Consul Alfredo Carmine Cestari organized a meeting presenting Dr. Bolamba some of the media.

He could appreciate the professionalism of the host in describing the health conditions of his country, his story is revealed here that the people have a life expectancy below 50 years, there is a high infant mortality and high incidence infectious diseases such as malaria.

Giuseppe Vassallo (another doctor involved in the campaign), could provide the specific expertise of each Italian colleague engaged in shipping, outlining what might be the targets for each and trying to understand the way forward for constructive health collaboration between the two countries.

One of the goals is to provide its professional expertise in one or more hospitals in the capital Kinshasa (the one mentioned by Dr. Bolamba is about 250 beds) where it is practiced mostly "general practice", there being of specialists. In this way during our stay in Congo, will carry out training Congolese colleagues and, where possible, practice on selected cases. Another objective is then to select any health care that they could continue their education in Italy. It is this aspect has been treated extensively meeting held March 30 at (Hospital "S. Giovanni di Dio in Salerno and roars of Aragon", where the Congolese representative of the Ministry of Health was able to greet the Director General Domenico Pirozzi. The manager said openness to accommodate Congolese doctors interested in perfecting our country.

The visit began in the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics, directed by Dr. Antonio Fasolino, who was also involved in the shipment; wearing a hospital gown, the guests could visit the inside of the Department of Neonatology, where he worked for Dr. Joseph Vassallo led by staff responsible for this and the dr. Elio Caliendo.
Second step in the Department of Pediatrics, where Dr. Bolamba chatted with Dr. Angela Ricci, director of the department, which showed a toy library where children admitted can play various leisure activities practicing small jobs and artistic and decorative compositions.
The Congolese delegation has come then to the Median Emergency Department, where it was welcomed by Dr. Dario Caputo Director of the Emergency Department. Thanks for the nice hospitality, Dr. Bolamba could briefly explain the health situation in his country and receive by Dr.. Caputo the proposal of concrete initiatives to encourage professional collaboration with fellow Congolese who want perfection in Italy. The last stop Delta delegation involving the Department of Infectious Diseases, where the Congolese colleague has discussed the various protocols and treatments for some diseases, especially AIDS, in which the field is especially committed to his country.

Dr. Bolamba said he was thrilled by his visit, mainly affected by the presence of many professional synergistically related to human health.
