In six months, Benin will meet at the polls to choose who will preside over the destiny of the country over the next five years. In view of the elections that present themselves, many wonder in Benin, for those who's heart is the former head of state, Kerekou whose support is anticipated.

Several are the former employees of General Kerekou. Among these  are included the President Yayi Boni, former president of the West African Development Bank (boad), Abdoulaye Bio Tchan, former Minister of Economy and Finance, Mr. Adrien Houngbedji, former Prime Minister, former Minister Pierre Osho Defense, Dr. Zul Kifl Salami, former Minister of State.

There is also George Dossou Gans, a former special adviser to the "Old Pretender" in charge of Eastern and Central Europe.

But informed observers argue that George Dossou Gans has the privilege of maintaining a permanent contact with the old chameleon who trusts in him.

The next conference will clarify the situation.
