Mozambique is a presidential republic. The current president is Emilio Armando Guebuza.

It has a population of 21,184.701 inhabitants and an area of 801,590 kilometers.

The capital is
Maputo. With a shape that vaguely resembles the horn of Afghanistan toppled, Mozambique extends for 2500 km along the southeast coast of Africa, and borders in the north with Tanzania ,in  the north-west with Malawi and Zambia and  in the south-west with South Africa and Swaziland.

The coastal plain, which stretches south for 200 km, changes in mountains and highlands in the north and west. Two of the longest rivers in southern Africa, the Zambezi and the Limpopo, across the country. The other main rivers are the Save and the Rovuma, which form the northern border with Tanzania. The massive Lake Malawi (also called Lake Nyasa) forms part of the border with Malawi.

Proceeding westward, the landscape changes abruptly from a narrow strip of beach lined with palm trees you pass to a wide range of savanna and forest-covered mountains, then to the forests. Among the trees there are hardwoods, acacia and papaya, while the fauna includes black rhino, rare and endangered.
