In Burundi, the institutional meetings of particular importance, were with:

 

The main theme discussed during all meetings was: the potential which Burundi offers and at a economic-commercial level and entrepreneurial one.

The involvement of institutional players was crucial to reliability and certainty to the Italian entrepreneurs who are still suffering the effects of negative information on the African continent and especially to ensure no risk to themselves.


Organization of workshop

The workshop has been in Bujumbura at the Hotel Du Lac Tanganyika during which was outlined the overall framework of measures to support business development and commercial support, which includes schemes largely favorable economic initiative through taxation measures of advantage, and to simplify and speed up administrative procedures for those wishing to invest in the country.


Results

The promotion and presentation of Italian companies participating in the mission to Burundi intervened institutions and some local entrepreneurs, who have shown great interest to enter into partnerships. In fact, after tasting some Italian products such as dairy products from Campania, local businessmen have expressed their desire to enter into a partnership for  import of some products and for the production on site. Moreover, Italian businessmen have expressed at the end of the mission, their appreciation for the excellent organization and especially for the quality of the meetings that have contributed not only to know, two economic and cultural realities that are starting increasingly to become more important for the global economy, but also to gain greater security in the possibility of considering the exploration of an area that always inspires fear and insecurity.
